CardChill’s Top 20 Chase Cards in Ascended Heroes

As a long-time Pokémon TCG collector based in Staines, I’ve been absolutely buzzing since Ascended Heroes dropped on January 30, 2026. This set is massive—295 cards, 78 secret rares—and the chase cards are some of the most exciting I’ve seen in years. I’ve been ripping packs, trading locally, and watching prices on CardChill and TCGPlayer like it’s my second job. Here’s my personal top 20 chase cards list, ranked by how much I’ve been hunting them, what they look like in hand, their current raw value (as of late January 2026), and why I think they’re worth chasing right now.

Investment Thoughts from a Collector’s Perspective

From where I’m sitting in Staines, these chases are screaming value right now. The 78-secret structure means scarcity is real—prerelease data already shows SIRs hitting 1/67–91 packs, which keeps raw prices firm and PSA 10s mooning. Mega Gengar SAR and Dragonite MUR are my personal “hold forever” picks—god-pack potential and meta relevance could push them 100%+ by Worlds. Pikachu SAR and Cynthia’s Spiritomb IR are safer mid-tier plays with strong community love and quick flips. Sealed ETBs (especially PC exclusives) are sitting at 60–180% EV over MSRP in my experience—perfect for long-term holds through the 30th anniversary hype.

I’m splitting my focus: 50% sealed ETBs/BundleBoxes for steady growth, 50% raw chases (especially Gengar, Dragonite, Pikachu) to grade and sell peaks. Rotation (Reg G in April) and Z-A ties will only fuel demand. If you’re building a modern collection or flipping, Ascended Heroes feels like one of the strongest special sets since Celebrations.
